Beautiful Outside

I'm going to try posting from my phone again....hope it works.

Today is BEAUTIFUL!  It feels like 70 degrees outside and I'm sitting on my front (dead) grass watching the kids ride bikes, while I'm "planning" singing time for tomorrow.  I'm sure I'm going to have a sunburn!  Finn currently has the shovel and is shoveling the very last of the snow (from the plow that made a huge mound in front of our house) onto our driveway and playing in it.  Bree likes it, too.  So glad for these warm February days that make the March and April (and May!) snowstorms a bit less overwhelming.  Just a bit!

January

I happened to be looking through my blog for something earlier today and realized how much I miss by being behind on my blog.  I miss saving all of the cute stories and the daily (albeit boring) happenings.  So, my plan is to just get caught up.  I can do it with one big summary of January and a catch up post of Finn's medical issues.  So, here is the January photo dump.

When I got back from being at the hospital this little girl was on an eating frenzy.  She decided she liked Greek yogurt.  And it makes the best goatee!

We have been shopping for new living room furniture for a long time and I was really close to buying some.  And then I saw these at CostCo after Christmas.  After doing some research on home to get it home (we don't have a truck so we hired a moving company) I did an "impulsive" thing and went to CostCo and bought them.  The boys were excited!

Bree and Finn goofing around at CostCo while I was hemming and hawing and talking myself into it.

New couch a day later (sorry about the lighting)

New love seat

Bree was really getting into this yogurt thing!

All of my kids love corn on the cob.  I love that they eat!

Even Finn eats it!

Bree has become my little chef helper (not quite to Finn's level yet but she's working on it).  In addition to yogurt she decided to give Carnation Instant breakfast a try and she loves it.  I think mostly she likes that she gets to help stir it up, but she also enjoys drinking it.

Her favorite thing to make is scrambled eggs.  And believe me, she knows all of the steps.  One day she helped me make her some eggs and decided that she wanted to add her leftover cereal, too.  So, this was her lunch.  Yuck!  (She ate some of it.)

We've had fun playing outside, both in warm weather and in cold.  This day we got 8 inches of snow and it was under 20 degrees.  But there was no wind so it didn't feel that bad.  We had fun playing in it outside while it was still coming down.

Finn thought he'd try to shovel for me.  He gave up pretty quickly.

Finn ASKED to do the dishes one day.  I need to see if I can get him to do it again!

I can't take a picture of Finn without taking one of Bree.  I dare you to try to do it, because she won't let you!

My birthday and Bree's first time out.  She didn't just dump out her food at dinner, she took it and threw it everywhere.  :(

My Saturday mornings.  Kai is my bookworm.....

and Finn and Bree are my silly monkeys.  (Finn took this picture of us.  He was taking turns hanging upside as well.)

From 8 inches of snow to 73 degrees!  Yep, we have had days we ride our bikes and walk to the bus stop.  These warm January days are what help me survive the 8 month winters we have here.

At school I ended up in charge of the Teacher Appreciation lunch put on by the 2nd grade.  We went with a soup and salad theme and at the last minute realized it was just 5 days before the Super Bowl, so we called it a Souper Bowl Lunch.  Anyway, I spent two hours at school that day setting up and making sure things were going smoothly.  I had the worst headache that day, too.  After I was done I put Bree down for her nap and then went and took one myself.

Another lazy Saturday=Kai and Bree wrestle match.  I love when they have fun playing together.

She pinned him!
