With Kai's birthday on walk day, we all wore our Finn's Friends shirts all day. He got presents from us, Grandma Hickman, Finn and Bree, and a friend that came to the walk. |
|
His friend Jazzy did the whole walk with us. Kai and Jazzy have been friends off and on since Kindergarten. She gave him this Epic Perplexus and he was excited! |

For dinner we headed to Texas Roadhouse. The kids love this restaurant and Finn was excited for fried pickles and steak bites. Kai decided he didn't want us to tell them it was his birthday. He said he'd rather go to Freddy's for ice cream instead of the free birthday ice cream. So, that's what we did. |

So cute! |

We did birthday cake at the park right after the walk, but since it was a CostCo cake we had a lot of left overs. The kids worked out an exchange on who got which color balloon. Of course, then Finn only ate the frosting. |

Kai had the blue balloon |

And just a few days after his birthday he was presented with his Wolf badge at Pack Meeting. |
Kai is half way to an "adult". I can't believe it. He is a great kid who loves school, loves learning, is enjoying piano lessons, and is playing his third year of baseball. He has improved so much in baseball and hasn't struck out all season. He still loves to cuddle and is such a sweetheart. The thing Kai craves the most is love. He just loves the comfort of physical cuddles and verbal reassurance. This summer he is taking swim lessons and continuing with piano. He is looking forward to really jumping into the Gifted Program in the fall. I've also seen glimpses of the "tween" years sneaking up on us. I'm bracing for the rough weather ahead, but enjoying the sweet time we have now. Happy Birthday buddy!
