Funny Day

First, I should know better than to turn my back on Kai! Over the weekend, Kai had found my stash of safety pins (kept in my linen closet in a glass jar) and decided that it was a fun new toy. Here's what happened while I got ready this morning!

What's worse it that every time I tried to clean up this nightmare, Kai freaked out. I eventually gave in and left it, and every time we walked by Kai would say with pride "I made a mess!"

This afternoon while we were playing hide 'n seek, Kai found his daddy's tie. I thought he was adorable.
After hide 'n seek Kai came up with a new game--the "take a nap" game. I can honestly say that I think this is a good "game". Of course, it was 4pm and so I knew there was no way he was actually going to take a nap, but it gave me some time. Basically, he asked me to put him in his crib (I think mainly to get his binky) and then he told me he was going to take a nap. He told me that I needed to turn the lights off, his sound machine on, and lay down in the rocking chair! Sounded great. Then he laid down in his crib. Every 20 seconds or so, his head would pop up above the bumper just making sure I was still there. I eventually got up and threw his blanket in with him and that added another dimension to the game. Who would have thought he'd entertain himself like that for 30 minutes!!
