More of December

One of our shopping trips this month was to the dollar store.  That was, well, interesting.  Let's just say the lady in front of us was telling us all about her pajama jeans, had a horrible cigarette stench and held a place in line for her daughter.  When her daughter showed up just before it was time to check-out (the line was LONG!) her cart was full.  I'm talking 100+ items.  And just at that moment they opened a new register and the lady who had told me "We're together" all of a sudden ditched her daughter who was checking out and ran (I mean RAN) to the new register just so she could be ahead of me.  It was ridiculous and reminded me of how much I live in a bubble.  Oh well.  Finn loved the dollar store!  We may have to make an occasional trip back just for some fun.

We also did some shopping at CostCo where Finn entertained yet again.

Earlier in the month we attended the ward Christmas party where Kai sat on Santa's lap for the first time.  He told him that he wanted a marble track and a toy boat.  Uh oh!  We knew nothing about a toy boat, and we still have no idea what it is he really wants.  And he has reminded me every day since Christmas that he did not get said toy boat.  Ahhhhhh......
Finn was fine standing in line.  He just didn't want to see Santa.

On December 14th we got a surprise at the door.  Someone was doing the 12 days of Christmas for our family.  The kids loved it and Finn even learned to say Santa.  The first day we got a Thomas video which has been watched several times already.  We also received toy cars, taffy, blankets (the kids were so excited about these), cookies, cupcakes, a nativity set, an ornament kit, and a Mr. Potato Head (and more!).

Finally, a few days before Christmas Kai had his class holiday party.  It really was a great morning complete with hot chocolate and snowman cookies.  The kids did some songs at the end of the party for us and it was great.

What a great way to get ready for Christmas!
